Manhattan in Cubao on a Drizzling Day

One drizzling Sunday, I obliged a couple of sales persons to see one of the latest offerings of Megaworld Corporation, the Manhattan Garden (Tower 3), somewhere in Cubao. The area is beaming in the business of Gateway, a not so recent addition to the development of Cubao.

They took me to the showrooms, passing through Gateway. I asked, “What is the difference between a real estate broker and a real estate agent?” While I knew that a broker has to be licensed, I don’t know if an agent should be. The answer I got from one of them was, “Brokers are those you see distributing flyers.” To be licensed and yet distribute flyers is not a mean feat, I suppose. I would rather hire agents or promo girls to distribute flyers if I were a broker. For lack of them, I’d do it myself.

Manhattan Garden is a must-see especially if the “come on” is “near Ateneo.” Indeed, it could take only 15 minutes to get to Katipunan on an easy day. What’s an easy day like in Cubao, anyway?

Turnover is in the year 2010 and at the current pricing schemes, a studio for instance could now be more than Php2.0 million but geeez, parking does not come with the package. Reminder to those looking for a good buy: ask questions, probing ones, to get your money’s worth. Don’t be taken by the model units, ask what is inclusive and what is not. On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d rate Manhattan Garden a 6.
